Derwent Valley Light Railway Centenary Gala Weekend

Friday July 19th 2013 will see the Derwent Valley Railway being in existence for 100 years.

Joem and Pecket 0-4-0ST No 1967 'Merlin', built in 1939 and which will be used for steam hauled services through the rest of the summer season - Chris Lawson

The railway will commemorate this milestone over the weekend of the 20th & 21st July with a gala event to celebrate the history of the line, which will include the return to the line of two locomotives, including Joem, with a historical connection to the Derwent Valley Railway. Joem went back to the Wensleydale on Monday, so only a short stay.
