J27 Boiler

Print

Work continues at Crewe on the J27 boiler. It has now been moved into the boilershop and laid on its side. By the time of the Q6 working party visit on 17 June, the roof stays had all been removed, and Helen, the machinist, was working on removing the copper side stays (and complaining about how hard they are). Richard Watkins confirmed that they would be sending some off for analysis to check their composition.
