The J72 will visit the Epping and Ongar Railway for six weeks this spring, and later the Q6 will be making a two week visit to the Wensleydale Railway.

The Committee has accepted a request from the Epping and Ongar Railway for a six week hire of J72 No 69023 Joem from the beginning of April, to include their 150th Anniversary Gala on 24th - 26th April. Following its steaming at Locomotion, Shildon over the weekend of 28th and 29th March, it is planned to move the locomotive to the Epping and Ongar Railway where it will be working some service trains during April and the first two weeks of May, as well as during the Gala. It will leave during the week beginning 18th May and return to the Wensleydale Railway where it will be operating for the rest of the season, up to and including Santa specials in December.

On arrival at the Wensleydale Railway, during that week it will be joined by the Q6 which will be making a two week visit from the NYMR to include the Wensleydale Railway Association's 25th Anniversary Gala over the late Spring Bank Holiday (23rd - 25th May). It will return to the NYMR in the week beginning 1st June where it will rejoin the service locomotive pool for the rest of the operating season.

As further details of the planned operation of both locomotives during their trips away become available, they will be posted on the website.
