Having been at Grosmont yesterday on a driving turn, Ian Pearson reports that he was told that the copper ring and steamseal did not work when the T2 was steamed on Thursday. The cover was therefore removed and resealed with three turns of 5mm graphite jointing and steamseal. The engine was back in traffic yesterday on the 12.30 from Grosmont to Pickering. After returning it went back to Pickering on the 16.30 pm. No more cylinder leaks reported, and it is on the roster for services today.
