Since the last update we have completed cutting all of the small tubes and the flues at the firebox end (see photo) removed all remaining washout plugs, tapped out all plug holes (except to the bottom backplate and throatplate bosses) finished cleaning the LH piston valve, started cleaning the RH piston valve, dressed all of the coupled wheelset spring hanger nuts, machined a replacement hornstay bolt for one which was damaged when removed, needle gunned the chimney and done a little more needle gunning on the boiler (but had to stop because the needle gun kept freezing up).

Needle gunning the chimney has revealed one old, stiched, fracture and a relitively new one - see photo.

Many thanks to Angie Buxton, Rolly Bingham, Steve Gibson and Robbie Ellis who have all worked on the loco since the last report.

Finally, many thanks to anyone who has worked in any capacity for the Group in the last year and Merry Christmas to you all.
