We worked on the K1 for 4 days last week. We have continued with grinding and drilling stay heads, finished removing the external smokebox fittings and the RH expansion bracket, replaced the paint removed to facilitate last week's boiler NDT. The fracture in the chimney has been stitched and we have also measured up for the new firebox platework and quotes are currently being sought.
On the mechanical side, needle gunning of the cylinders has continued, two more cylinder relief valves have been cleaned and serviced and a start has been made on removing the injectors.
