An Exhibition of photographs by Maurice Burns.

Last Steam from Richmond Poster

The exhibition is for 6 months. It is to be semi permanent. Just removed when there are art sales etc., then put back up again.

The exhibition is about Richond Station, and is mostly pictures of K1's. However, somehow an A1, A3, A4, and Deltic get in on the act. The exhibition is also about 62005 - the very last steam engine to visit Richmond. There is a picture of it in the Four Seasons Resteraunt plus a volunteer picture of its first steaming at Thornaby in 1974.

Description

Richmond station was opened in 1846. Passenger services ceased in 1968. In 2003, after a chequered history, the building was taken over by the newly formed Richmondshire Building Preservation Trust, with the aim of restoring it to its future splendour and making it once again a focal point of the local community.
